happy pride month!

well it's been a long time since i've made a blog entry, mainly because i've just been too lazy to do it. it's funny how whenever i'm super busy during the semester i want to do so much with my website, like updating my blog and writing reviews and essays, and during the summer when i have more free time i just work, play video games, and sleep... but i digress!

went to my first pride event yesterday :D there was a local parade/festival thing, so me and my roommate walked over and hung out for a couple hours! it was super hot but i had a great time and got a bunch of free stuff like flags, stickers, even a tshirt... so it was really fun. it's genuinely so healing to me just to see queer people proudly existing in public and having a good time. it's easy to assume all southerners are conservative homophobes but that's just not really the truth, at least where i live now. there were SO SO many people and a lot more families than i thought there would be! it was just so great to see dykes on bikes and people wearing leather corsets next to a middle aged mom with a bisexual pin and a toddler in a stroller and everyone was just having a good time together. it really reminds you that a lot of the "pride discourse" online doesn't fucking matter.
